Louis Nchindo, the former Managing Director of Debswana, the Botswana mining venture between De Beers and the Botswana government, has been reported dead, according to South Africa’s Business Report.
Nchindo was due to face criminal charges of over 30 counts this coming April.
Another local paper, The Voice, reports that Interpol officers approached them for Nchindo’s photograph to circulate after he went missing last week.
“Our father who last contacted us from Kasane on Sunday afternoon has not been in further contact with members of the family and for our part we have not been able to contact him. Out of concern for his welfare, we have enlisted the assistance of the appropriate authorities and remain optimistic that the matter will resolve itself,” reports a statement from his family according to the Voice.
