KickStart is an initiative developed by International Jewellery London (IJL), which takes place at London’s Earls Court from 5-8 September 2010, and the British Jewellers’ Association to support up and coming design talent to develop their businesses. This group showcase allows exceptional designers to gain business knowledge, exposure and retail contacts at the UK’s only dedicated jewellery trade event.
Designers will benefit from:
- Exhibiting with like minded designers on a group stand in IJL’s prestigious Design Gallery
- IJL training day (covering marketing, PR and maximising participation at events) and a pre event planning session
- BJA advice regarding IP and pricing
- Pre and post event promotion and PR
- Exposure on the IJL website (exhibitor listing which includes product gallery)
- Support from experts (IJL Event team / BJA and industry consultant Aldyth Crowther)
- Exposure to IJL’s 9000 strong visitor audience
- A reception during the show which buyers and the press will be invited to attend
Participation criteria:
- Participating designers must have the capability to take and fulfill orders from retailers.
- Participants will be required to join the BJA or be existing BJA Members. Please visit www.bja.org.uk for more information
- Product must be design led
- Product must be designed in the UK
- Precious and non precious jewellery is acceptable
- All precious jewellery must be hallmarked where appropriate
- Designers must not have previously exhibited independently at IJL
- The business must have been in existence for less than 5 years
- Participants will be required to attend the IJL training day and the pre event planning meeting (June and August)
- Participants will be required to send a post show report regarding business done at the show by the end of October 2010
Costs:
- The exhibiting cost £600 + vat
- BJA Membership £118 + vat
