In a special initiative aimed at giving diamond buyers from around the world direct access to Antwerp diamond companies, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has launched a dedicated website featuring information about Belgian exhibitors at next month’s Hong Kong International Show.
The site provides users with an interactive map of the trade fair, which takes place March 5-9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, showing visitors the exact location of Antwerp firms. With a simple click, they are taken to a dedicated page giving a full range of information on the exhibiting firm.
This includes a company profile explaining the history of the company and the products and services it can supply. In addition, information, including telephone numbers and personal email addresses, and images of the company representatives who will be staffing the booth at the show are also supplied.
In a special feature entitled “Schedule a meeting with an Antwerp exhibitor”, visitors simply select from the list of Belgian exhibitors with whom they wish to meet and fill in personal and company details. They will then be contacted by the exhibiting firm to set an appointment. The website can also be viewed on the move on mobile phones, enabling visitors to adjust their plans and meetings during the show with just a touch of the screen.
“This is the first site of its kind to be offered by a global diamond centre, and aims to provide buyers with a precise route to take them to exactly the exhibitor they need to fill their buying requirements,” said AWDC CEO Freddy J. Hanard. “We want to give customers a more personal way of making contact with diamond firms by enabling them to see in advance who they are, what they can supply, and even images of the company representatives.
“The power of the site lies in its simplicity. Buyers can see exactly where they need to go without spending valuable time walking the show looking for a firm that might have what they need. Time is a precious commodity at trade fairs, and buyers and visitors know how exhausting they are. Our aim is to help them plan their visit in advance to enable them to use their limited time in the most efficient way possible. Networking is a vital part of doing business, and this site enables buyers and sellers to effortlessly make contact. This inaugural site will be followed by others,” Hanard added.
The website, the first of many that will also include the Shanghai Jewellery Show, the JCK Show in Las Vegas, IIJS Mumbai and many others, also provides general information about Antwerp and its central role in the global diamond industry. In addition, there are figures providing information on the level of diamond trade between Belgium and Hong Kong.
