James Avery, a family-owned jewelry retailer based in Kerrville, Texas donated 300 sterling silver Joy of My Heart charms to be given to each adoption made this year through Arrow Child and Family Ministry. The Joy of My Heart charm includes a large heart that embraces a smaller heart, symbolizing a parent’s love for his or her child. The donation program was announced last year and commenced with the release of the new charm in February.
Arrow Child and Family Ministries serve to advance the well being of children, families, communities and culture by providing an array of services and engaging the local church to promote Christian responsibility and commitment to strengthen family life. In 2009, they facilitated over 300 adoptions not only in Texas but across the United States.
Paul Avery, executive vice president, comments: “We are honored to be able to show our support to families across our many communities with this donation. We trust that with each charm given our appreciation to those who choose to extend their families through adoption will be shown. It is our hope that we continue to support the impact that Arrow Child and Family Ministry has had on the many children and families across Texas and the United States.”
As a precedent set long ago by Mr. Avery himself, giving back to the communities is an important aspect of the company’s core beliefs.
