Following the triumphant success of the sale of an important “De Beers Millennium Blue Diamond” from an Important Private Collection (a 5.16-carat Pear-shaped Internally Flawless Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond mounted as a ring) at Sotheby’s Hong Kong for the price of US$6,402,564, Sotheby’s has announced the sale of another spectacular 5.02-carat blue diamond in its forthcoming Evening Sale of Magnificent Jewels at the Beau-Rivage Hotel in Geneva on Tuesday, 11 May 2010.
Set in the form of a toi et moi ring by the celebrated French jeweller Alexandre Reza, this Pear-shaped Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond weighing 5.02 carats is mounted alongside an exceptional white diamond of the same shape and weighing 5.42 carats. Coming from a private collection, the rare diamond ring is estimated to fetch CHF 4.25-7.4 million / US$4-7 million and is accompanied by two GIA reports stating that the blue diamond is a Fancy Vivid Blue and that the white diamond is D-colour and Internally Flawless.
