Tiffany & Co. today announced that tennis champion Maria Sharapova will wear earrings from Tiffany’s new collection of dazzling yellow diamonds at the 2010 US Open, August 30–September 12, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
Tiffany’s yellow diamonds are among the rarest and most sought-after gems, with a radiant color that is as pure as sunlight. Expert stonecutters maximize the stones’ natural hue, and Tiffany designers set the diamonds in modern, must-have jewelry for connoisseurs and fashion loyalists alike.
The drop earrings selected by Ms. Sharapova combine yellow and white diamonds in platinum and 18 karat gold. “Wearing Tiffany diamonds on or off the court is always a special experience,” Ms. Sharapova said. “The addition of colored diamonds makes the jewelry even more extraordinary.”
The partnership between Ms. Sharapova and Tiffany & Co. covers the four Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. During each event, the tennis champion wears earrings from Tiffany for Maria Sharapova, a select group of earrings that is available at Tiffany & Co. stores around the world.
