Antonio Conte looked almost certain to lose his job at Chelsea just a couple of months ago, with rumours of dressing room discord circulating and awful results on the pitch putting them all but out of the race for a top four spot. However, last season’s Premier League victors have been resurgent over the past month or so, and Conte has a real chance to save his job in these final two games.
The Blues managed to beat Liverpool at the weekend, somehow keeping the devastating front three of Mane, Salah, and Firmino quiet throughout the 90 minutes and putting them in a reallypromising position coming into this game. This was their 5th consecutive win in all competitions, a run which has also put them through to the FA Cup Final in a couple of weeks time.
Not only that, but their win over Liverpool put them in a very promising position to claim a top four spot in the Premier League, something which looked far out of their reach just a couple of weeks ago. They are now only two points adrift of a Spurs side struggling for form, and three behind Liverpool with a game in hand.
Huddersfield won’t be lying down and taking defeat though. The Terriers, despite their excellent start to life in the Premier League, have crumbled in the second half of the season and now find themselves in relegation trouble. It’s not imminently dangerous just yet, but it could quite easily turn sour very quickly.
They did manage to get a fantastic draw away to Manchester City on Sunday, but they have won just one of their last eight Premier League games and find themselves three points above the relegation zone, with all those sides also yearning for safety having two games left to play as well.
Away from home is where the real trouble starts for The Terriers. They have won just three league games on the road this season, losing 11 of their other 15 matches. Worrying they have scored a meagre 11 goals in this time, failing to find the net on 13 occasions.
This will come as good news to the Chelsea defence, who have struggled at times this season but finally seem to be back on point. They have kept a clean sheet in three games in a row now and in ten of their 18 league matches at Stamford Bridge. This, along with Huddersfield’s poor attacking record, makes backing Chelsea to Win to Nil look good value alongside a 3-0 correct score predictions.
