It’s amazing to think that just under a year ago Chelsea were lifting the Premier League trophy following their 1-0 win at The Hawthorns, and now the defending champions have been stripped of their title at the hands of a dominant Manchester City and their title winning manager Antonio Conte is at risk of the sack.

The Blues come into the final three games of the league campaign 5th in the table, five points adrift of Tottenham and an all important top four position. This race for a Champions League spot will be of paramount important, and with them also having an FA Cup Final to prepare for Conte will be eager to keep confidence high in camp.

Chelsea have dramatically improved recently after a really poor spell. They beat Swansea 1-0 away form home last weekend to make it four wins in a row in all competitions, whereas prior to that they had lost five of their last eight games. However, they have still lost five of their last 11 in the Premier League and it was only a month ago that Spurs beat them 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are riding the crest of a huge wave at the moment. Despite losing 4-2 in Italy on Wednesday Jurgen Klopp’s men booked their place in the Champions League final, with their 7-6 aggregate win going down as the highest scoring Champions League semi final in history.

Indeed, it’s their goalscoring prowess that is bringing all the plaudits. Their front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane have scored a huge 56 league goals between them this season, with Salah’s 31 accounting for more than half of these. The Egyptian attacker has scored 11 goals in Liverpool’s last ten competitive matches, so he looks a great price to find the back of the net here again.

It’s these players that will make the difference in our eyes. Chelsea have shipped eight goals in their last five home Premier League games, illustrating their defensive weaknesses at the moment. Add to that a misfiring Alvaro Morata who has scored just one Premier League goal in 2018 and it’s looking good for Liverpool.

The visitors are still in the race for 2nd place in the Premier League and their confidence will be sky high, so we think they’re a great price to get the win on Sunday along with a 2-1 correct score predictions.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Rudiger, Moses, Alonso, Fabregas, Kante, Hazard, Willian, Morata

Liverpool Predicted Lineup: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Mane, Salah, Firmino
