Manchester City are still on course to break the 100 point mark in the Premier League this season, but their chances were damaged on Sunday as they failed to get a goal against a resolute Huddersfield side at The Etihad. That means they need to win both of their remaining league games to hit that target, although with a home game against Brighton and a trip to the relegation threatened Southampton, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem for Pep Guardiola’s men.

The Citizens are still unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions though, and at home in the Premier League they have lost just once all season. The fact that, that came against arch rivals Manchester United on an evening where they could have sealed the Premier League trophy will have hurt immensely, but their 17 point gap over their rivals will help to ease that pain.

That gap was increased by one point at the weekend, and it was largely thanks to Brighton’s efforts. They managed a shock 1-0 win over Manchester United to break out of a seven match winless streak, but a trip to the Etihad is expected to be a much tougher affair.

The Seagulls have secured their Premier League safety though, something which will please them immensely. The win over Manchester United pushed them to the 40 point mark, leaving them seven points clear of the relegation zone with just two games to play. Another season in the top flight beckons, and you would imagine there was plenty of celebrating within the squad.

Brighton’s away form is cause for concern on Wednesday though. They haven’t won a league away day since November, losing seven of their 11 games since then and failing to score in eight of them. In fact, they have managed a total of just ten away goals all season in the Premier League, and with Manchester City keeping a clean sheet in four of their last six home games in the league, we can imagine the visitors’ having issues adding to their tally.

The visitors have lost without scoring a goal to Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Leicester and Everton this season as well, and they haven’t actually scored in any of their eight trips away to top half sides. This makes a Manchester City Win to Nil bet look great value for money, so we’re going for that along with a 2-0 correct score predictions.

Manchester City Predicted Lineup: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sane, Sterling, Jesus

Brighton Predicted Lineup: Ryan, Saltor, Duffy, Dunk, Bong, Stephens, Propper, Izquierdo, Knockaert, Gross, Murray
