SPORTING KANSAS CITY VS COLORADO RAPIDS PREDICTIONS, BETTING TIPS AND MATCH PREVIEWS
REASON FOR SPORTING KANSAS CITY VS COLORADO RAPIDS BETTING TIPS
Last weekend, MLS Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City were on the wrong end of their first loss since the opening week of the season. Sporting came away win zero points and zero goals after a 1-0 defeat in New York against the Red Bulls.
The loss brought to an end a seven match unbeaten streak for Sporting, whose lead at the top of the division was cut to two points by an increasing impressive Los Angeles FC team. LA have two games in hand on Kansas, so there isn’t much room for any more slip ups on their part.
Sporting’s home form will be cause for optimism ahead of their duel with Colorado Rapids on Sunday. Kansas have won three of their last four MLS contests at Children’s Mercy Park. They routed nine-man Vancouver Whitecaps in their last outing there, slamming six goals past the Canadians in ruthless display of goal getting.
Games in Kansas have been a decent watch over the past month – over 2.5 goals were scored in three of Sporting’s last four fixtures there. Of course, Sporting have already played the Rapids once this season in a 2-2 draw in Colorado just last month.
That point was one of seven that Colorado have picked up on their own patch this season. Rapids have collected just eight points in total this season, and you won’t need a calculator to deduce that just one of those was secured on the road.
Struggling away from home is nothing new for Colorado. They collected fewer points than any other MLS club on their travels in 2017, winning just one of their seventeen away matches in all. The Rapids have lost two of their three away games so far this term and it looks as though they are struggling to exorcise the demons from last year.
Driven on by the goals of Dominique Badji, the Rapids have at least shown a propensity for getting their names on the scoresheet. Badji has hit the net five times already in 2018. the Senegalese striker registered just nine goals in total last season. Helped by his goals, Rapid have only failed to hit the net once in their seven MLS matches so far.
We’re backing them to get another goal this weekend, but that’s likely to be the only thing of value they will be taking home from their trip to Kansas. Sporting have only lost two of their last twenty two matches at Children’s Mercy Park and they should have little trouble seeing off Rapids this weekend.
Sporting have hit twelve goals in their last four games on home turf, so we recommend you take advantage of their consistently high home goal numbers by taking the home win/over 2.5 combination which is available at a cracking price.
As we brushed on earlier, Colorado Rapids have been hitting the net regularly themselves, and with that considered, we advise taking a look at the both teams to score selection for the game. Sporting beat Rapids 3-1 the last time the teams did battle in Kansas and our correct score prediction is forecasting a repeat of that result on Sunday.
