Russia’s diamond monopoly Alrosa and Kristall of Smolensk have resumed cooperation after a long break, as rough diamond supplies resumed in July, in accordance with an existing long-term agreement between the companies. By the end of 2009, Kristall of Smolensk plans to purchase rough diamonds worth at least US$100 million.
